Current work priorities: All these operations are supported by a relatively small membership and financial base. Our members are our greatest asset and it is important we continue to attract new members and retain present ones. At the same time we are building up the financial base of the Trust through a co-ordinated fundraising campaign especially targeting companies, fund giving charities, individuals and others who have not supported the Trust so far. Legacies are becoming very significant and we ask all members to consider leaving a legacy for wild places by considering the Trust when preparing wills. Members have shown clearly in membership surveys and through e-mails, letters and comments at meetings that they want the Trust to become more involved in open campaigning for wild places. We already have considerable influence in the areas where we are on the ground, working with local communities and partners but we are also developing links with the Scottish Executive, the Scottish and Westminster Parliaments, agencies and others in order to build awareness of the vital importance of wildness and our wild places.
