If you’d like to be more active for the good of your local environment, consider volunteering for one of LINK’s member organisations and directly supporting their environmental work. Most LINK member organisations need the support and voluntary time of their members to carry out their work, and you do not necessarily have to join an organisation to volunteer your time.
There is a very wide range of things you can do. There are opportunities, generally seasonal, to take part in recording and surveying wildlife, with good support to get you up to speed on the mini-beasts or plants being surveyed. Many organisations need regular help at reserves, visitor centres or manning stalls at events. Some organisations need help in the office, and of course most organisations are very grateful for assistance with fundraising.
If you are looking for experience we periodically post voluntary positions on our environmental vacancies page. Alternatively, please take a look at some of the websites of our member organisations for more information on volunteering opportunities. There is bound to be something to interest you.
