LINK Parliamentary Briefing: Climate Emergency Debate

27th March 2019

On 27 March, the Scottish Parliament will debate a motion on the Climate Emergency. In advance of this LINK members issued a briefing highlighting the need for urgent action to tackle climate change. For this to be effective, action should focus on:

  1. Achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible
  2. Ensuring there is no overshoot scenario as this would cause irreparable damage to Scotland’s natural environment
  3. Rolling out a suite of measures which would enhance the ability of our ecosystems to sequester carbon and increase their resilience to climate change impacts

The full briefing can be found here.
