Marine Policy Officer
WWF Scotland, Dunkeld
This is a key role in delivering WWF's marine work in Scotland. Given the significance of the Scottish fishing fleet, a large part of this work will focus on working with Scottish fisheries stakeholders to help deliver sustainable fisheries management. This post is a key member of the Scottish team, but also contributes to the WWF-UK marine team and will work with UK and European colleagues to deliver WWF's UK, European and international sustainable fisheries goals and contribute to WWF on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy. The post holder will also have responsibility for managing wider marine issues within the Scottish team and working with colleagues both in Scotland and the UK to support effective implementation of the Scottish and UK Marine Acts.
You must have substantial experience of working on marine issues. A sound understanding of fisheries policy is essential, preferably with a knowledge of the Scottish industry.
A proven team player, you must have commitment, drive and a solutions-orientated approach to your work. A commitment to and support for WWF's mission is essential.
Salary: £26,509 - £28,166 per annum
Contract: 12 months fixed term with possible extension

Mountaineering Council of Scotland
MCofS are seeking nominations from individual members and members of clubs to stand for election for the organisation's voluntary Board of Directors.
Candidates will have a commitment to mountaineering, hill walking or climbing activities, and should be prepared to instigate projects which are relevant to the strategic aims of MCofS. The duties are likely to include chairing an advisory group of volunteers, which will inform and support the work of MCofS officers.
Nominees should plan to participate in the MCofS AGM which will be held at Glenmore Lodge, by Aviemore, on Saturday 4 September 2010, at 16:00.
