David Fleetwood

David Fleetwood is an experienced policy leader and nature advocate, serving as Director of Policy at the John Muir Trust. In this role, David drives the Trust’s work on public policy, evidence and advocacy to protect and restore wild places, including providing expert testimony to the Scottish Parliament on issues such as land reform and sustainable deer management. 

Before joining the John Muir Trust, David held senior policy roles within the Scottish Government, including as Head of the First Minister’s Policy and Delivery Unit, where he helped shape strategic policy across government.
