Nature Champion Pledge

Scottish Environment LINK is calling on all Members of the Scottish Parliament to support the Nature Champion pledge to demonstrate their commitment to transformative action for nature’s recovery.

Nature is in crisis. Real action is needed to restore our environment so that it can continue to amaze us and continue to perform the critical functions that underpin our livelihoods and our health and wellbeing.

Our natural world needs allies like never before. As we enter a new parliamentary session, the need for informed, passionate and supportive MSPs in ensuring our environment has a voice has never been more critical.

The Scottish Parliament must put in place measures to drive nature’s recovery and put Scotland on a path to meeting ambitious climate targets.

The MSPs listed below have pledged to be champions for nature.

We are calling on all MSPs to champion Scotland’s nature. Sign up to the pledge by emailing juliet@scotlink.org

The Pledge:

“We are facing a global nature and climate emergency which requires transformative action. With 1 in 9 species in Scotland at risk of national extinction, we need to implement long-term ambitious measures for the recovery of Scotland’s natural environment. I pledge to do everything in my power to support policies and strategies which deliver the recovery of Scotland’s wildlife and natural habitats and increase biodiversity. As a Member of the Scottish Parliament, I pledge to champion nature.”
