Number of investigations completed
In both 2023/24 and 2024/25 ESS report completing no investigations.
The 2024/25 annual report states that “As intended by the Continuity Act, ESS has achieved informal resolution in each of the cases where environmental failings have been identified. This has taken place at the pre-investigation stage of casework, therefore no investigations have required to be initiated within 2024/25.”
As of August 2026 there are three investigations listed as ‘open’ on the ESS website.
