Number of Section 7 Control Agreements and Section 8 Control Orders in place since 2024.
NatureScot has legal powers to introduce Section 7 Control Agreements or Section 8 Control Orders to deal with unsustainably high deer numbers. Control Agreements are voluntary agreements with landowners, while Control Orders are compulsory and require landowners or occupiers to take action.
