Climate change is recognised by many as the most serious threat facing life on the planet today. Governments have responded to that threat by agreeing to long-term goals of keeping global temperature rise this century, below 2ºC and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5ºC. To achieve that goal will require unprecedented levels of action from governments, businesses and individuals. This report sets out what has already happened to both the global and Scottish climate and how it might change in the future. It looks at the impacts of that change on Scottish biodiversity and brings together existing evidence on five habitats, their species, and the future impacts of climate change.
